Please join us for the High Holy Days at our Yom Kippur Day services (including Yizkor). During registration, you can provide the name(s) of any family member and/or friend that you want to be remembered at the Yizkor service.
We will soon commemorate Yom Kippur – a day of introspection, during which we traditionally forgo food and drink – to afflict our bodies, as we seek to purify our souls. It is a religious tradition – but one which we choose to do. When our fast is broken, we return to our homes – homes in which our pantries are full, and we are rarely in want or need.
But there are those around us, even on this magical island, who do not know where their next meal might come from or worry if there is enough food to give healthy meals to their loved ones. Our island has been blessed by the work of the Nantucket Food Pantry, and Shirat HaYam has directed a majority of our philanthropic efforts to support this sacred work of feeding those in need.

If it is your tradition not to carry on the Holy Day (OR you are joining us virtually), we ask that you access the Amazon Wish List and have your donation delivered directly to the food pantry (once you place your order, the food pantry’s direct shipping address should auto-populate in your shipping addresses options – if not, it is Nantucket Food Pantry 10 Washinton St, Nantucket MA 02554)
