On October 10, our president Chuck Shoneman and Rabbi Gary Bretton-Granatoor expressed our concern for, and support of, Israel and her people. For a copy of that statement, please click HERE.
On Friday, October 27, we will hold a Unity for Israel Shabbat Service, led by Rabbi Gary, online by Zoom. We will bring together our community, both members and friends. We will mourn, pray and show our support for Israel. The service will close with prayers of healing and memorial, and the singing of Hatikvah — Israel’s national anthem.
Following the conclusion of the service, those who wish to remain on the Zoom will have an opportunity to share their thoughts and questions in a discussion moderated by Rabbi Gary. Shirat HaYam as a congregation is committed to supporting Israel and her security. Shirat HaYam is a vibrant and diverse community of individuals whose personal opinions will differ. For those who are prepared to join with respect and humility, we encourage you to be part of this healing session and share in those personal views.
Members on-island may join the Zoom service at a private home on West Chester with community dinner to follow. Zoom login information and link will be provided on Friday morning to those who register in advance.
All are welcome.
Zoom link on Friday for those who register.
