“Can’t You Hear Them?” Benefit Concert featuring the Rossini Club

August 3, 2022 @ 5:00 pm 7:00 pm

Please join us for the “Can’t You Hear Them?” concert featuring the acclaimed chamber music group The Rossini Club for the benefit of Nantucket Food Fuel Rental Assistance, a service of the Nantucket Interfaith Council.

The concert is sponsored by Congregation Shirat HaYam through the generosity of the Hochwald Family in memory of music aficionado Ronald Hochwald MD.

The opening series of the 2022 Rossini Club season will feature music by Jewish composers from the 20th and 21st centuries with a spotlight on the music of the monolithic Morton Feldman, whose music pushes sound to a liminal, almost supernatural existence. Paired with a new co-commission with the Del Sol String Quartet by Boston-based composer Derek David that explores themes of Jewish identity, this concert cycle deals with the nature of reality and existence, while surrounded by the spectacular Tiffany Windows in the sacred space that St. Paul’s Church has generously offered for the evening. For more info on the Rossini Club, click HERE.

The $75 Benefactor ticket will give you priority seating for the performance and admission to a garden reception at St. Paul’s Church following the concert. To be listed in the program as a Benefactor, tickets must be purchased by July 28th.
