Hendrix Hall – Unitarian Meeting House

Congregation Shirat Ha Yam sponsors weekly Friday Shabbat Services in Hendrix Hallat the Unitarian Meeting House, 11 Orange Street, Nantucket, MA, at 7:00 pm unless otherwise noted.

Anya Freedman’s Bat Mitzvah at the Unitarian Meeting House, upstairs 10:00 am. All are welcome.

Nantucket Book Festival author, Jonathan Burnham Schwartz, will join members for cocktails and a discussion of his book The Red Daughter, the story of Joseph Stalin’s daughter’s defection to the U.S. Shirat HaYam is a sponsor of the Book Festival. At a private home TBA. 6:00 pm.

Community Pot-luck Shabbat Dinner in a private home prepared by congregation members and open to all past, present and prospective members, 6:00 pm. Location TBA. Shabbat Services led by a lay leader.

Reception with the Nantucket Historical Association celebrating the opening of “Strangers to Neighbors: Jewish Life on Nantucket” a special exhibit co-sponsored by Shirat HaYam and the NHA. Exhibit and reception at the Whitney Gallery, 7 Fair Street. 6:00 pm.

Susan Ronald, Author, Historian and Biographer, will discuss her book Hitler’s Art Thief: Hildebrand Gurlitt, the Nazis, and the Looting of Europe’s Treasures. Shabbat Services led by a lay leader.

A breakfast reception with Susan Ronald will be held in a private home. Her topic is “Florence Gould: A Dangerous Women”. 9:30 am, Location TBA.
