Yom Kippur Study Session

Please join Rabbi Gary Bretton-Granatoor and the congregation for our annual Yom Kippur study group, which promises to be a thought-provoking session.  The focus of our reading of the Jonah story this year is Jonah’s prejudice against the Ninevites, a theme Barbara Ann White, our guest speaker, will bring close to home. She will speak and lead a discussion about prejudice in our Nantucket community — not frequently acknowledged although well known. 

Barbara Ann White is a fellow at the Nantucket Historical Association and a teacher for 30 years. She is the author of A Line In The Sand – The Battle to Integrate Nantucket Public Schools 1825 – 1847 and Live To Tell The Truth: The Life And Times Of Cyrus Peirce. Her new book, Disturber of Tradition: A Portrait of Anna Gardner, will be published in June.
