Rabbi Gary Bretton-Granatoor Weekend

Friday, July 18 at 9:30 am: Coffee with Clergy, with Rabbi Gary Bretton-Granatoor. Discussion topic: Topic: Tisha B’Av – Our Religious Day of Mourning – But for what? The upcoming commemoration of Tisha B’Av marks our Jewish day of mourning. It is said that our greatest tragedies occurred on the 9th day of Av. Often these happened when outside forces attacked our people. But the rabbis have taught that some of these event were precipitated by internal divisions within the Jewish community. We are experiencing the same tensions today – from within and without. A opportunity for us to learn what tradition teaches, and a chance for us to discuss.
