Judge Eliot K. Cohen, Retired First Justice of Nantucket County, of Newton and Nantucket, MA and Naples, FL, died on Sunday, November 13, 2022. He was 93.
For 65 years, beloved husband of Elaine (Ginsberg) Cohen. Loving father of Jim Cohen, and Sandra Cohen & her husband Michael Walker. Cherished grandfather to Jim’s daughters, Kayla, Samantha and Lindsey Cohen. Dear brother of the late Barbara Solin and her surviving family.

Judge Cohen had a life full of accomplishments, including serving our country in the Air Force and OSI, serving the Newton Community as President of the Board of Alderman.
Judge Cohen began a private law practice in Newton and in 1981, was appointed by Governor Edward King as the First Justice of the Nantucket County Probate and Family Court. Eliot dedicated his life to public service, the law, and taking care of his family.
Services have been held. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Rabbi Perlman’s Discretionary Fund, c/o Temple Beth Shalom, www.tbsneedham.org or to a charity of your choice.
Eliot and Elaine have been long time members of Congregation Shirat HaYam.
