Congregation Shirat Ha Yam organizes weekly kabbalat Friday Shabbat Services at 6:30 pm unless otherwise noted. All are welcome in peace. Saturday Study Sessions are held at 9:30 am for “schmooze”, 10:00 – 11:00 am for study.

Leonard Greenberg Memorial Scholar in Residence Weekend

Congregation Shirat HaYam is excited to welcome you to join us for our Leonard E Greenberg Memorial Scholar Weekend with Dr. Daniel Gordis joining us online from Israel. Dr. Daniel Gordis is Senior Vice President and the Koret Distinguished Fellow at Shalem College. The author of more than ten books, Gordis is a columnist for Bloomberg Opinion and writes regularly for the Jerusalem Post. Dr. Gordis’ history of the State of Israel, entitled “Israel: A Concise History of a Nation Reborn”, received the 2016 National Jewish Book Award as “Book of the Year.” Dr. Gordis will discuss “The Rift between American Jews and Israel: The Historical Background ”

The lead-up to the recent Israeli election, an analysis of the results, including the background of the coalition parties and their leaders, and a discussion of the hot button issues facing the new government.
