Congregation Shirat Ha Yam organizes weekly kabbalat Friday Shabbat Services at 6:30 pm unless otherwise noted. All are welcome in peace. Saturday Study Sessions are held at 9:30 am for “schmooze”, 10:00 – 11:00 am for study.

Shabbat Services and Leonard Greenberg Memorial Scholar in Residence

August 14 @ 6:30 pm

Kenneth W. Stein is the Professor of Contemporary Middle Eastern History, Political Science and Israeli Studies at Emory University. Dr. Stein will address his relationship with President Jimmy Carter with whom he worked for 8 years, what he learned about Carter and his attitude toward Israel, as well as how Carter managed the negotiating process for the peace deal between Israel and Egypt from 1977 to 1979. Prof Stein will also lead the Scholar in Residence Weekend, Aug. 15-16.
